Script for Q/3

Pitch Feedback

From the feedback we received after our pitch or ideas. Based on the video it is evident that we took all the questions into consideration. For example at the time, we weren't sure who the main singer would be whether there would be any other people involved, so during the pitch, we learnt what people thought of the main singer being involved and were able to make our decision based on their feedback.

Rough cut feedback - Holly

our Rough cut showed that we still had a long way to go with the editing. Our teacher, gave us constructive advise by pointing out areas that needed improvement. From this advise, we were able to learn that our video needed to follow the conventions of pop plan ahead with our editing to help with our time management and we also learnt that the footage we had were sufficient and effective but we just needed to apply it in a way that showed this.

Rough Cut Feedback H/K

We got feedback from a range of people of different ages, which consisted of; Did you like it? What type of person would like this? What sort of music video would you expect to accompany this track? From the feedback we gathered from various people we learnt that our music video is aimed at the girls, because when asked the questions 'do you like the track?' the girls answered 'yes' whereas the boys answered 'no'. This helped us established vaguely the target audience is female. HOwever we also learnt that they all interpreted the song the same way and visualized how the music video would look, and from this we learned to use a narrative storyline and follow conventions of pop.

Final Video

When we completed our video we got feedback from our class members, answering questions based on the effectiveness of our video and the editing transitions etc, this feedback enabled to establish what was good and what was bad. For example, we learned that our locations and costumes changes were effective but the transitions from one to the other didn't match conventions of videos in the same genre. We also learnt that most people found our non-linear editing was used correctly and effectively however the lip syncing took away from this because it wasn't always in sync and made the video look unprofessional feedback shows we learnt and improved form the rough cut feedback. Based on the feedback we received the things we would improve are our planning and time scales that we give our ourselves. Allowing us to finish the video without any black gaps in between. Also when editing be more accurate with our lip syncing so the video is continuos and look unprofessional.

Ancillary Feedback

The digi pak has been complimented for it's use of the stamps in photoshop. The use of colour also compliments our digi pak from groups Q1 - 19 and Q1 - 23. The blurred image on one panel on the digi pak was favored for it's certain focus on the artist. However the colour brings down the 'free' mood, expressed in our images and associated it with the 'blair witch project'.

The magazine advert is complimented for giving relevant information and being clear with what we're selling. It's linked well with the digi pak panels i.e the stamps. Also the white text is complimented that it stood out from the picture but  other groups say the style f the texts is childish.

Ancillary Texts Feedback - Q1-21

Magazine Advert

For this magazine advert, it gives us all the information needed. Saying that, we feel there was no rhyme or reason to the placing of the information, there's no clear order and it feels just placed on. We also feel the text font and colour seem unprofessional because it doesn't fit with the genre. We like the use of a textured overlay framing the artist. We also liked the inclusion of "reviews". Though it feels very muted and gives off a downtrodden/sympathetic tone.

Digipak

A thing we like about the digipak is the fact you have used a strong theme and stuck with it. Both the outside and inside panels use a similar theme despite differing quite strongly in the tone and colour.
Saying that, we feel the front panels in-particular make it feel very spooky and depressing. It doesn't feel like a pop digipak, it feels more like the soundtrack album for The Blair Witch Project.

feedback from Q1-19

the magazine advert and digipak are linked well, through the editing. the magazine advert is very crowded and unclear. the digipak is a bit repetitive but shows good examples of editing and photshop skills
