Here is a lighting tutorial that helped us to be able to position lighting in different places to make different effects.
During this video we made some notes of the things that we liked and the things that we could try ourselves.
- colour corrector - this would be done in the editing process when the footage is in final cut.
- lights behind the artist - putting lights behind the artist which helps the artist to be lit more, gets rid of the shadow and helps them not blend into the background.
- streaking lights - making our own streaking filter to add onto the lights and create an effect depending on how we cut into the filter. The tutorial below, Free Streak Filters is a video that shows us how to make cheap, home-made streak filters.
- use colour filters - these can be added to the lights and come in different colours. This colours include: red, blue, green, etc...
Here is an image of what the guy in the video was doing. With a small diagram of the lights and when we film our fireplace scene, try out try lights and see what looks good.
